L'été

Loving being back in my second home for summer. Arrived down here to a sweet new summer board waiting for me in the Seabase Factory. So stoked with my new Fony :) Thank you Quiver! 

It's been super warm but flat the last few days so I took the chance to head down to Biarritz on my day off for the Roxy Pro. It was cancelled but it was still nice to chill out and bike around Biarrtiz. 

My mode of transport for summer is doing the job nicely...getting me to and from work super fast.

Hebrides

So May has been a jam packed month for me so far with my beach lifeguard exams, surf school and some sick waves. We picked a random weekend, booked a ferry and headed out to check out what the islands in Scotland had to offer. Wind, beauty and some super fun waves!

March and Easter waves

I've been so busy and not had a minute to keep everyone updated on what's been happening so here is what's been going on with me over the last month or so...

There's not been a lot of decent waves over the last month but Easter has been a total treat! Lots of awesome wee north swells, perfect winds and sunshine. Sharing the sunsets with my neighbour Mrs Highland Cow too. She's very cute :)

The Scottish Championships were at the end of March and it was such an awesome weekend up in Thurso hanging out with friends and family. I've been working alongside the Scottish Surfing Federation for a couple of years now and this year's event marked the 40th Anniversary of the Scottish Champs. Best event yet and so much fun. I ended up smashing my lip open in the finals at Thurso East. Teeth still intact luckily! It was easily double overhead for the women's final with short 20 minute heats making the conditions really tough and not allowing us much time to get a score. I ended up taking one of the sets to the head, got totally smoked and couldn't make it back out in time to get one of those sick looking waves. All a great learning experience and congratulations to Shoana Blackadder who took the title :)

Serious props to one of my buddies Megan McKay too. She was tearing it up all weekend and stoked to see her get a couple of sick waves at Brimms.

I'm pretty honoured to have been asked to be one of the contributors for Approaching Lines. Coldwater Surf School

I've been really busy over the last few months and I am so stoked that I have managed to get my own business, Coldwater Surf School off the ground. The response has been amazing so far and it is great to be able to teach children in Scotland to learn to surf. Thanks so much to everyone who has helped me so far.

Champions In Schools

It's been such a busy couple of months without many waves to go around so I've been spending my time doing some training on land courtesy of Boddy Language and preparing for the launch of Coldwater Surf School. Lessons start this weekend so I am super excited. Fingers crossed for some waves soon :)

Happy 2013 everyone! 2012 has been an amazing year and I cannot thank all of my sponsors, family and friends enough for all of their continued support. I'm super excited for lots of waves and adventures in 2013. With the lack of waves since the start of the year, I've been getting stuck in with some wintry training...this is what things looked like today. Hill training in the snow is not easy! Haha
